December Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello!  I like Christmas.  Did you have a fun Christmas? 



I got to be in a concert at my school.  I got to sing and go into my classroom and play fun games.  We sang Rockin Around the Christmas Tree, All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth and Little Drummer Boy.

Me and my family had a party at my cousins house on Christmas Eve.  And I got to be a king.  We ate dinner and played.  I even sang a song for everyone.  It was If I Had Been in Bethlehem.  We also did chimes.

I got to open my grandma's present that she gave to me and it was really cool.  It was a remote control with a big car.  Aunt Melissa gave me a GI Joe guy and Aunt Amy gave me a Christmas blanket. 

I got a trampoline from Santa.  It is Awesome!!



And I got a Zune for Christmas from mom & dad.  It plays music.  They got it for me so I could dance in my room.  I love to dance to Michael Jackson.  I like all his songs, they are great to dance to.

I have had 2 weeks off of school.  I went on a date with my dad.  We went to McDonalds and went bowling.  I have been playing with my new toys I got from Christmas and dueling my brothers with Pokemon cards.  I have been playing with my friends.  And we helped Amy get her stuff moved into her new house.

November Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello.  I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving.  I had a happy Thanksgiving too.  We got some snow this month and we sledded in it. 

I spend a lot of time on the heater reading my favorite book.  My favorite books are the Magic Tree House books.  I like going on the heater because I get warm and it looks like a bubble.

At school, I had a Domitila play.  Domitila is a Mexican version of Cinderella.  It was fun.  I was one of the funnest persons.  I was Timitayo.  He is the prince in the story.  I had a fun time with my class and I love acting.  I hope that I can start taking acting classes and be in more plays.

At Thanksgiving we were at Great-Grandma Norberg's.  We put on a play for all the parents.  I was an Indian named Massiot.  I love acting. 

We went to the cabin on the day after Thanksgiving.  We played in the snow and sledded down into our river that didn't have any water in it.  It was fun! 

We cut down a tree at the cabin.  It was so hard to walk in the snow.  But it was the funner part when we got to bring the tree home.  The tree got taken home by us and we decorated it.

I had my dad's birthday.  It was so fun.  I got cake and ice cream and we got to play LEGO Harry Potter.

October Letter

I just realized that Brandon was dictating his full letter before he was 6 years old and so there is no reason why my little chatterbox Eric can't write his letter on his own at this point as well.  So from here on out, Eric's letters will all be in his own words.  Let the fun begin!!

Dear Family & Friends,

Hi Family.  I like to go hunting with my mom and my dad and my brothers because I like to shoot cans with a BB gun.  I liked going on a 4-wheeler ride because I got to see trees with lots of pirates gold (yellow leaves).

I had a party at my school, a Halloween party.  I got a balloon and then I had to go up to the front of the whole room and then I had to do a trick and then I had to pop it and go slap somebodys hand and then they get a balloon and keep doing it.  My trick was jumping up and down.  I also made a spider hat there and I colored some pictures.  We also did a parade going into the whole school showing off our costumes. 

I went to my Uncle Ryan's punkin patch and I got a white punkin.  And Dad carved it for me, the eyebrows were a line down and a line down on the other side and the eyes were triangles.  It looked like Jack the Pumpkin King's head. 

We had my family Halloween party at my house.  This is me with my doughnut.  The adults put doughnuts on strings and then the strings were on a stick and then me and my cousins and my brothers got to eat doughnuts by not using our hands.  I got to turn on the fog machine.  It sprayed fog at everybody and a bunch of little kids like Kyle were scared of the fog.  We also baked rolls and made a cake for Brandon because it was his birthday this month of October.  I watched Nightmare Before Christmas and I bobbed for apples. 

I went to all my friends houses in neighborhood for Trick-or-Treating.  I was a pirate for Trick-or-Treating.  And I got lots and lots of candy.  I went all the way around my neighborhood and I went super fast. 

I like school, playing with my friends and doing math.  I feel happy and I hope you do to.  I hope that you are safe.

September Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello there!  How are you?  I am doing great!  We had a great month doing lots of fun things.  We had a great time at the cabin playing, fishing and Rendezvous-ing! 

I am loving school and have made a lot of new friends.  There are also a lot of girls who always chase me at recess.  I am really doing well in school, math comes so easy for me and my handwriting has improved so much already. 

I built a LEGO machine with Brandon that can move it's eyes, shoot missles, roll around and can shoot out of its little roller.  School is cool!  And I like my teacher Mrs Sherwood.  I like recess and lunch and Spaulding ... its writing letters.  I like to play in the creek and play with my cousins up there.  And I like to go fishing with my family.  I like coloring pictures of creepy monsters.  And I like to play with my LEGO guys.  I like to trade LEGOs at school with my friend Porter.  And at school I got traded a big troll.

August Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello Hello!! How are you? I am doing GREAT!! I started 1st grade this month ... can you believe it!! I am in school all day with lunch at school and 3 recesses! I love it! I have a great teacher and lots of friends at school. After school everyday, Brandon & I trade LEGO guys with a bunch of other guys at school so I always come home with something new.

We have spent a lot of time in the mountains this month. I love playing and hiking in the mountains.

My obsession with Yu-Gi-Oh! cards has ended and I am back into LEGOS and that is my very most favorite thing to do.

I have a good time at school. I like to play LEGOs after the whole day. I like eating lunch at school. I like to play at recess with my friends. I like to play with friends at school: Xan, Gavin, Cannon, Marleigh, Mikayla. And the friend I like that is not at school is Kade. I hope you have a good time. Bye!

July Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

I had a great and super busy month. My Walker and Sintay cousins came to Utah at the beginning of the month to visit. So did my Uncles Jonah & Micah and my grandpa Pat. We did lots of fun things for 4th of July like hiking and parades and fireworks!!

Then we went to Yellowstone with some of dad's family. I got to sleep in a tent with Brandon and we did lots of sight-seeing and even got to fish off of Chuck's boat which was awesome! I caught a cutthroat that was huge!!

And we just got back from a weekend at our cabin. It was only our 2nd time up there this year since we have been so busy. It was so nice to get up there again.

We did some stream fishing up there as well and between the 5 of us we caught 10 fish!! I caught a big rainbow trout which dad cooked up and I ate for my dinner. Brandon and Kyle each caught a big brook trout that they got to have for their dinners. We all liked catching our own dinners!

We also played some baseball while we were up there. Brandon and I have gotten really big into baseball and are always asking dad to play catch with us. We are getting better at it each day!

I can hardly believe it but I only have two weeks of summer vacation left! I am really looking forward to first grade!

It was really fun at 4th of July. I was glad that I could see my cousins and I had a good time. Yellowstone was really cool too. I played and I set up a tent. I got to see grandma. I had a good time fishing at my cabin and I am so glad that I caught a rainbow trout. Baseball is cool. And I am so glad that dad got us real baseballs. And I am glad that I got a mitt, it looks really cool.

June Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello everyone! I hope that you are all having a good start to summer. I sure am, once summer gets here, that means my birthday is right around the corner. I had such a great birthday this year. Our family went to Hollywood Connection and rode a lot of rides and played mini-golf and had a great time.

We then had our Barnhisel family over for cake and ice cream to celebrate my birthday.

I also had a friend birthday party which was super fun! We played water games, had pizza and decorated cupcakes with funny faces!

We also got to get up to the cabin this month finally now that enough of the snow has melted.

I am very into Yu-Gi-Oh! cards these days. It is pretty much all I think about. I have been spending my summer running around to all my friends houses and playing night games with the neighborhood kids.

I had a good time with my birthday this month. I am so glad that I am 6. I am so thankful that we can go to the cabin. And I had a fun time playing with my cards. I like being nice to my brothers. I am so thankful that I have a family. And I am so thankful that I have lots of brothers.

May Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello everyone!! How are you? I am doing good ... still a spunky monkey!!

This was my last month of school, the end of Kindergarten! I got to go on a field trip to the zoo this month with my class and it was so great. I specifically loved the crocodiles and snakes.

We went to Colorado over Memorial weekend and had a great trip visiting with family. We did some hiking in Conifer where dad's cousin Jenny lives. It was cool!

And we spent a lot of time playing with our cousins. It was super fun! I can't wait until we can go back and play more with our cousins.

Then today we had our field days at school and it was so much fun! We got to compete in different challenges as a team against other tribes (classes). We won a lot of challenges and had a great time!


I loved having a fun time in May. I had a good time building with my Legos and I had a good time going to the zoo and going to field day. I got a medal from field days. I am so thankful that I had a good time with my family at Colorado. And I had a so good time seeing Grandpa O'Berry. And I had a good time with my cousins and having a slumber party with all the boys.

April Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello there! How are you? I am great! We did lots of fun things this month. We went to Moab over Spring Break. We did a lot of hiking ...

and swimming.

Brandon & I also started soccer this month and it's been fun even though many of our games have been snowed out. I love playing soccer. It's so much fun!

We had an Easter Egg hunt at Aunt Melissa's house this month as well as another one at our house. Needless to say, we have had lot of Easter candy!!

Easter Sunday was nice. We went to Grandma Chris' house for an Easter dinner.

Today, despite the winter wonderland outside we ran in my school's Fun Run. Brandon & I won the 1 mile race!!!

And I found that I am really interested in Yoga.

I had a good time at the Fun Run with my family and I had a good time doing Yoga. And I had a fun time at Moab. And I like to build Legos and I like playing with my family. I like to play Operation with my family. I had a good time at soccer with my team mates and I had a fun time getting a goal. I hope you have a good time in spring. That's the end.

March Letter

Dear Family & Friends,

Hello everyone!! How are you? I am doing GREAT!!! This month was the best ever! At the beginning of the month we got to go to Disneyland! We had such a great time. First when we got to California we went to the beach which was so much fun!

Then we spent three days at Disneyland. My favorite ride was the Hollywood Tower Hotel. It was so cool and I went on it lots of times.

We also got to go to Toon Town which was so cool since we are very into Toon Town.

The coolest thing about Disneyland was that Brandon and I got chosen for the Jedi Training Academy. We got to be trained by Jedi Masters and then, Darth Vadar showed up and we got to battle him. WhenI finished battling him, the Jedi Master said that I had been using the "Smile Technique" on him. :)

I hope that we get to go back to Disneyland again soon ... it was so great!!!

I had a good time at Disneyland and I had a great time at the beach and all of our hotels. And I had a great time with my family. And I had a great time building Legos. And I like building Legos. I like building Legos with my family. And I am so thankful for my toys. And I am so grateful for my brothers. Ok, I hope you have a good time, goodbye!
